From the wars that Abram fought against 5 ruthless kings, to the great challenge of being burned alive in a fiery furnace...one thing prevailed: These valiant GOD seekers did not give up when the going got tough. That’s the kind of resilience that we need to see today -staying strong in the bale, combaঞng the threats and fiery darts aimed at us, with the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6). Do you call yourself a “Christ Seekers”? Then you are in the bulls-eye of the enemy who is seeking to kill you, steal from you and destroy you! (John 10:10) I Peter 5:8 tells us, “Keep a cool head; stay alert. The devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing beer than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up! You’re not the only one plunged into these hard ঞmes; it’s the same with Chrisঞans all over the world. So, keep a firm grip on the Faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous GOD Who has great plans for us in Christ (and what glorious plans they are!), He will restore you and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; Yes, He does!” The Bible describes the enemy as “an angel of light” and “a roaring lion” but he is neither of these things. It’s how you picture him in your mind...do you see him as a greater threat than GOD’s mercy and grace? We must hold on to allegiance to GOD above everything else! “Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for pracঞcally anything. Be generous with the things GOD gave you; let GOD’s Words be a blessing to those around you. Friends, when life gets really difficult, like you’re going through a ‘fiery ordeal’, don’t jump to the conclusion that GOD isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad tht you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a ‘Spiritual Refining Process’, with Glory just around the corner!” (I Peter 4:10-12 MSG) Things that are important and will amount to a great deal to others, take a long ঞme and some great contemplaঞon to get the dream accomplished. The dream GOD has given you “comes through much effort” (Believing that GOD will achieve what He has promised!). (Ecclesiastes 5:3) You are not alone; GOD is with you. As you learn about Him in His Word and trust the One Who created you, you will realize that these verses are true: “Go ahead and make all the plans you want, but it’s the LORD Who will ulঞmately direct your steps. We are all in love with our own opinions, tesঞng and probing our every moঞve. Before you do anything, put your Trust totally in GOD and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed. POWER OF ATTORNEY2 3 Proverbs 19:17 says, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will repay them for their deed.” Those, who, like yourself, support this ministry are the backbone of this work. Your giving makes it possible to reach so many who have their photos on this page, those who are facing poverty, isolaঞon, hunger and loss. Without faithful supporters many of these needs go unmet. Because you stand with Home of Refuge, help reaches those in need in very pracঞcal ways. Behind every meal provided, every visit made, and every word of encouragement shared, there are faithful supporters like you making the work possible. Galaঞans 6:9 encourages us, “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Your conঞnued support is part of that “doing good” that Galaঞans is talking about. This work helps us and builds up your Faith because when you give… “GOD is able to make all grace abound to you, that always having enough to give into the Kingdom of GOD, you may have an abundance for every good deed!” ( II Corinthians 9:8) Thank you for being part of the reason this ministry can conঞnue reaching people with pracঞcal help and the lasঞng Hope only Christ JESUS provides! We love you for your faithfulness…. Tony & Rosa Home of Refuge, Peru Colorado was part of the Wild, Wild West. James Michner made it the focal point of his 10-episode saga, Centennial. Michner, an American au- thor traces the history of the plains of northeast Colorado, along the Plae River, from prehistory unঞl the mid-1970s. Geographic details about the town of Centennial and its surroundings take place inWeld County. Colorado was organized as a territory 1861 and admied as a state in 1876 (we are celebraঞng 150 years), named for the river, SpanishRio Colorado, meaning"ruddy, reddish," literally "colored",due to its reddish appearance. The name was later applied to the broader territory, especially a[er the discovery of gold in the Pike’s Peak region. When the U.S. Congress established the Colora- do Territory in 1861, the name was officially adopted, and it became the 38th state in 1876.The name Colorado not only describes the natural red hues of the land and river but also symbolizes the state’svivid landscapes, including red sandstone formaঞons, rust-colored cliffs, and the diverse scenery of mountains, rivers, and plains. It represents a fusion ofSpanish exploraঞon historyand thegeological fea- tures that define the state, making it a name that captures both cultural herit- age and natural beauty. The state of Colorado is a most beauঞful state and it is the desঞnaঞon for people all over the United States, in the summer as well as the winter. From the northwestern corner near Dinosaur Nat’l Monument to the southeast cor- ner, the diversity is dynamic. The mountains of Colorado are a part of the state that one never gets used to; from Ouray, called “The Switzerland of the U.S.” to the Royal Gorge, one will be caught up in its beauty. Plan to visit every corner of this great state...part of GOD’s Magnificent Creaঞon! What a celebraঞon the World Cup brought to the United States of America! Thank you, Pres. Trump! One aendee stated, “We were apprehensive about coming; we were expecঞng to be met by ICE, you know the poliঞcal climate we all see on the news, and that could not be further from the truth of what we actually experienced”. As their teams competed in group stage matches, fansin ciঞes including Kansas City, Atlanta and Seale have expressed joy at eaঞng at breakfast chains like Waffle House or said their minds have been blown away walking through Big Box warehouse stores like Bass Pro Shops and Walmart. One comment was, “We prefer Buc-ees to Buck- ingham Palace!” OnemanfromEnglandposted a video from inside a Walmart reveling at the fact he could purchase car parts, a flat-screen television and a rifle all under one roof. But the biggest point of chaer among tourists from around the world has beenthe quality and quanঞty offoodopঞonsin the U.S. Some said they were surprised to see so[ drinks come with ice and free refillsor posted videos with their mouths agape as servers brought entrees to the table. “I think American food is very tasty, but it has a lot of calories,” one World Cup traveler said. “THIS IS THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER...the sauce...Man!” wrote Scotland supporter Blair McNally a[er visiঞnga Raising Cane’s in Boston. “WE NEED THIS IN THE UK!!”One of the most popular items among foreign visitors has turned out to be ranch dressing, prompঞng the Transportaঞon Security Administraঞon to issue a warning to travelers reminding them that the condiment is technically a liquid.“If you’re visiঞng for a very large sporঞng event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here, please pack it in your CHECKED If you've ever received atext messagewarning that your bank account has been compromised, or a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, you know just how alarming that can be. What’s more...mail and phone scams can be incredi- bly convincing. According to new research from the USFederal Trade Commis- sion(FTC), an awful lot of people are not just alarmed by these messages -they are being scammed by them. The FTC hasrevealedthat $3.5 billion was lost toimposter scamsby American ciঞzens during 2025 -nearly three ঞmes as much as in 2020. And don't think that it is because people have become more gullible. The truth is that scammers are more sophisঞcated, more brazen, and more target- ed in theiraacks. They employ people from third world countries, who are basically unaware of that is going on. Almost one in three of all fraud reports filed with the FTC last year were imposter scams. The scams, which can arrive through all channels imaginable -including SMS text message, phone, email, social media, and search engine results -see a fraudster pretending to be someone they are not. And the most lucraঞve type ofimposter fraudis bank impersonaঞon, with vicঞms reporঞng that they have lost nearly $1 Bil- lion to scammers posing as representaঞves of financial insঞtuঞons. In an all-too-familiar aack, a target re- ceives an urgentsecurity alertclaiming that there has been suspicious acঞvity on an account, and a seemingly helpful bank representaঞve guides the vicঞm through the process of moving their money somewhere "safe". Don’t listen to them...hang up or dial a friend and allow them to talk to you to bring peace to your world, sur- rounded by GOD’s love -that’s a “Safe” Place” (Psalm 91:1) . Step back and take a breath and thank GOD that you did not give in to the threat on your phone or desktop. And never click into an address that you do not know; you are not “missing out” on anything. Remember that old adage, “Curiosity killed the cat,” and take heed! Here are some reassuring Scriptures for you to combat fear and anxiety: “The LORD is my Light and my Salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1) “GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present Help in trouble!” (Psalm 46:1) “GOD has not given us a spirit of fear but of Power and Love and a Sound Mind.” (II Timothy 1:7) “I cast all my care on Him, knowing that He cares for me!” (I Peter 5:7) (Isaiah 43)Next >
