I look around in the Body of Christ and see levels of preparation and readiness. But I don’t see the trained standing at attention for their assignments. I see great potential but little training. Others have a desire to serve but are not prepared. You see, the servant of God must go through the same type of training that our armed services personnel do.
Paul speaking here: “Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.” (II Timothy 2:3-4)
Also, Paul says in II Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for *correction, for *training which is in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work!”
*Correction: (#1882 – making right what is wrong in a man’s life)
*Training: (instruction and guidance; #3925 O.T. , “lamad- ‘fear of the Lord'” – to teach if need be, with a rod, as with a goad for oxen; all knowledge resides in the “fear of the Lord.”
“For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the Word of righteousness for he is a baby. But solid food is for the mature, who, because OF PRACTICE, have their senses trained to discern good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:13-14)
God gives every person born on planet earth, a “measure of faith” (Romans 12:3) whereby they have an opportunity to receive Jesus as their Savior. After one has been “born again” the Word says that the FAITH that he needs to lead a godly life is increased by hearing and practicing the Word of God (Romans 10:17; Phil 4:8; Hebrews 5:14). So few who contact us have any Word to stand on or use in the challenges they face.
“Without FAITH it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to the Father must believe that He is (Who He is – “I AM that I AM”) and He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
FAITH IS REQUIRED TO PLEASE GOD!
